📉 Market Context: VIX Drop Impact
During the day, VIX dropped from 16.38 to 15.34, and my position was showing a –6% unrealized loss due to the volatility crush.
Fortunately, pricing improved toward the end of the day, allowing me to exit with a small gain.
🧠 Thought Process
Although my plan was to hold for two days, I chose to exit early due to after-hours earnings from Google and Tesla. With SPX options not tradable overnight or premarket, I didn’t want to be exposed to potential large gaps.
This was a deliberate decision to avoid unnecessary risk and protect capital.
