π― Why I Exited Early
Today is FOMC day β which almost guarantees wild intraday swings, unexpected directional moves, and implied volatility spikes or crushes.
I originally planned to let the automation run its course, but after watching the price action overnight and weighing the risk of whipsaw movement during Powellβs speech, I had to make a tough call.
There was a part of me that wanted to see how the system performs in this environment, to gain data for future iterations. But in the end, I reminded myself of the first rule of this challenge:
βοΈ Protect capital.
βοΈ Take base hits.
βοΈ Avoid gambling on βevent days.β
And so I booked the profit. Is it a perfect decision? Who knows.
Did it align with my evolving discipline? I think so.
Am I happy? Maybe. Am I relieved? Definitely.
βοΈ Final Thoughts
Every trade during this challenge is a page in the story. This one was a reminder that it’s not always about the maximum P/L, it’s about the right decision at the right time β especially when navigating volatility minefields like the FOMC.
Iβm proud I didnβt force a bigger win or get greedy. Sometimes, the right exit is the boring one.
